Many people I know describe themselves as "spiritual, not religious." I, in fact, describe myself that way. But what does that mean? I believe it is important for each of us to define that for ourselves. What I am noticing as I get older is that the people who have consciously chosen their beliefs and put them into practice are more at peace with themselves than those who haven't yet decided what they are for - they just know what they're against. For myself, I have found that developing a personal spiritual practice has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done.
